The wig I got at V.V., around Halloween times, which is always the best place to find costume apparel early Occy, but youve got to remember that they trash all of it once the Candy Holiday has passed, so, if youre looking for good wig selection out of season and don't want to use eBay, try a costume shop, theres lots, look in the phonebook.
This wig was ALMOST perfect when I got it, I only had to tailor it just a wee bit before it was perfect, plus its got a really nifty net inside I can tuck all my hair up into, its a sweet deal. Its nothing compared to the damn Matt wig
HOURS of snippy-snip, I took that matt of red fluff from Velma from Scooby-Doo to the Beatles.
I also think I may have chopped off a little of Heathers actually hair
xD Shes going to kill me.
The rosary is a lovely thing I found lying about my house, however, this is NOT the rosary Ill be using for the con, since it was ripped to shits at a school dance. ]:
Niwa is lending me another rosary just like it, white, too, just a slightly different style so all should be good.
Note that rosaries are fragile and should not be boogied in. :0
The vest was a V.V. Its not at all tight enough
but thats a bit of a good thing. I dont want Mello to look all the more girlier because everyone can see my bust
Its a nice vest. Buttons us, though, which is not amazing
I was hopping for a viper for authenticity, but Value Village is completely random so its best to just take what you can get and be happy.
The leather jacket was something my mom bought for me (and a matching one for herself
whilst she was going through her midlife crisis. You know the one
when she bought the Harley?
then broke it a week later. *sighs*
I sewed on part of a feather boa I bought at V.V. Theyre pretty common though, at craft shops, so dont fret. Black stitches are hard as hell to see, but the foofyness effect is WAY worth it.
Note that leather jackets are thick and get really hot indoors. O.O!
The gloves are a V.V. THEY ARE TIGHT. O.< Tight and black. Tiiiiight and blaaaaack.
The belt was a V.V. Its just a black belt.
The belt BUCKLE was bought at an adorable kiosk in our mall, run by the family of one of my girlfriends, Rabia. xD They have the CUTEST STUFF! Its also where I bought the chain. ;3
I had to attach the buckle speerately to my belt, which isnt all that hard, but its a heavy trinket, goodness. I tried to go for accuracy but Mellos belt buckle is a particular one. So I went for an alternative. [link]
Its a bling-y gun.
Seems very Mello.
The pants are another V.V. Theyre pretty good, do up at the crotch like theyre supposed to and everything. ;D Even though they arent leather
I wear them all the time! Mostly just because I like them so much, they are comfortable
but also because Mellos black pants are torn up at the cuff, if Im not mistaken, and I REFUSE to take scissors to these god-pants, so I figure by wearing them a lot theyre just naturally fray. At the time this pic was taken, just after I bought them, they were pristine and now, half a year later, they are all frayed, mostly just in the back, but the fron soon and then were in business! ^___^
And, as for the shoes, theyre my work shoes, ordered them from the Shoes for Crews catalogue, theyre anti-stick and anti-slip. (Mello likes to be prepared XD) And they are the Lotus brand, probably the most expensive part of the outfit, minus perhaps the jacket, because I honestly have no idea how much that was, plus the boa sewed to it cost 7 bucks so probably quite a bit plus that. But, yeah, theyre just black shoes, no biggie. Most people own black shoes already, anyway. And if you dont, just nick some from your bother or old man.
OH! And the gun.
Its was from a dollar store for about 1.99, came with three plunger bullets.
I shot one in Marys eyeball on a test run.
Then broke it the next day. ):
Ill go get another one
when I get around to it.
